Body "Doubling" and why it helps
Body doubling is a productivity strategy where you work alongside another person—either in person or virtually—to help you stay focused and on task. The “body double” doesn’t have to participate in your work; their presence simply creates accountability and reduces the urge to get distracted. For people with ADHD, body doubling works because it provides external structure, a sense of shared focus, and gentle social pressure, which can make starting and completing tasks feel easier and more engaging.
